Mary Sparksman, CEM
Mary is the Managing Director for YRD and has principal responsibility for the management of major client accounts, events and conferences. Mary manages the Human Resources and has 38 years of experience in hotel hospitality and conference management. During that period she has become recognised as a leading PCO, for businesses, government departments, professional services, research, educational, scientific and peak body associations.
Mary is an invited member of various Hotel Advisory Boards, the Queensland council member for the PCO Association, co-chairing the hotel advisory committee. She has spoken at industry forums, particularly on matters pertaining to venue negotiations and contracts, and ethical standards of PCO members.
Event & Secretariat Manager
Jayme coordinates the secretariats managed by YRD and also works with both Directors on conferences throughout the year.
Jayme has completed a degree of International Hotel and Tourism Management at the University of Queensland.
Jayme's cheery disposition, strong attention to detail and exceptional efficiency makes her an asset to YRD.
Event & Sponsorship Manager
Danielle has previously worked in the events industry administrating, coordinating and hosting all aspects of international and national conferences and events as well as incentive travel. Danielle's commitment and enthusiasm to the events industry is portrayed in her ability to work under pressure and to plan, organise and meet tight deadlines accordingly.
Having graduated with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing, as well as undertaking additional subjects in Events and Music Industry, Danielle's attention to detail in all areas results in meticulous and accurate work.
Danielle also has strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, allowing her to develop long-lasting working relationships with both colleagues and clients.
Taryn has a background in corporate travel management and emergency assistance where over several years she has built a wealth of experience of the ins and outs of all personal and corporate travel needs. Taryn recently completed her Diploma of Event Management and already holding Certificates 3 & 4 in Tourism and a Diploma of Musical Theatre. Taryn is an organised, calm and solutions focused member of the team and supports the YRD Directors and Managers with their tasks whilst also assisting delegates with any of their needs.
Kate Murphy, CEM
Kate is a Director and Financial Controller of YRD, managing a number of specialist events for clients. Through her 10 years as branch manager for the Australian Tourism Export Council she gained extensive knowledge of hotel and tourism destinations throughout Australia.
Over the past 24 years as a director of YRD Kate has become recognised as a leading PCO for medical, government departments, research, educational, scientific and peak body associations.
Amy has been working in the events industry for 6 years in roles including Events Coordinator and Venue Manager. She has had a wealth of experience within the Hospitality sector and holds a Bachelor of International Hotel & Tourism Management majoring in Events from the University of Queensland. Amy is a well-spoken, enthusiastic, confident and personable team member who always faces challenges with a positive and practical attitude.
Jenny has been working in the industry for 12 years in roles including Venue and Event Management. However prior to this she has a wealth of experience in not for profit and the government sectors. Jenny holds a Bachelor of International Hospitality and Tourism Management majoring in Event Management from University of Queensland. Jenny’s maturity, organisation skills and attention to detail is an asset to the YRD team.
Lydia has worked in the events industry for 8 years assisting with the day to day running of events. She is a valuable team member who provides creative ideas and outstanding customer service. She has a degree in architecture and is available to do contract graphic design work for all client events.
Karen has been working with small businesses facilitating bookkeeping support using MYOB, processing and accounting liaison for the past twenty years. She works to keep the financial records of our clients to the highest standard possible. She is able to tailor processes and formats for each client based upon their individual needs. Karen‘s attention to detail in all financial matters ensures that our clients accountants and auditors requirements and timelines are always met.
